Harris Global was a bespoke IT and finance recruitment company with some very big ambitions. It wanted to grow. And quickly.
But the cashflow challenges of the recruitment industry were a problem for Director, Alan Feast.
“We pay our contractors on a weekly basis but get paid by the employer monthly. Essentially, we were having to fund at least a month’s worth of payments to a contractor before we got paid ourselves, so there were times we were pretty tight for cash.”
Harris Recruitment needed some breathing space.
“The bank made us feel small”
A flexible finance solution from the bank seemed like an obvious choice, but something just didn’t feel right to Alan.
“A lot of their processes were automated and we felt that we were just one of thousands of customers. They made us feel small when we were thinking big. This prompted a move to a company that provided far better help and support – but then they decided we were growing far too quickly for them and so we had to make yet another move.”
After a lengthy and detailed selection process, and needing a wider range of services than just invoice finance, Alan chose Ultimate Finance.
